RetirePath lets thousands save for their future in Virginia
RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Thousands of Virginians have been able to create retirement accounts in the year since the launch of RetirePath Virginia.
According to a release, in the program’s first year, 10,000 private-sector workers were able to automatically contribute a portion of their paycheck to their own IRA, collectively saving nearly $5 million.
“RetirePath is successfully addressing Virginia’s retirement savings gap by offering more Virginians the chance to save at work,” said Peter Thompson, RetirePath Program Director. “Many RetirePath participants are first-time savers who are building a more secure financial future. We’re encouraged by this early momentum and the program’s potential to make a long-lasting, positive impact.”
